Judo belts in my club every one is a low belt?

im a white belt in judo i live in alberta canada in my club all the people in my club are lower belts so how long does it take to get a yellow stripe or a yellow belt because im very curious about how long it takes because every one is low or is it just a sensei thing where like some take forever to give belts and some dont so can u plz tell me how long it takes to get a yellow stripe and yellow belt in judo
