Karate styles confusion?

I'm going to take the test for yellow belt, shito-ryu. Please, what are the styles of karate? I'm really confused. My sensei said there were 5 main styles of karate. I looked it up on the internet, according to the internet, there are only 4 styles of karate?? is that true??
